As one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Julia Roberts has continued to blow fans away with her fashionable looks since the late 1980s. Aside from her hit movie roles in Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Sleeping with the Enemy and tons more, the award-winning actress has captivated fans with her incredible red carpet wardrobe.
Whether she’s rocking a jewel-encrusted ensemble, sleek pantsuit with heels or a luxurious gown, there’s no doubt the Pretty Woman star has worn some memorable outfits throughout her career. Although Julia turns heads nearly every time she hits the red carpet, she insisted she isn’t the most educated when it comes to style.
“I don’t follow fashion per se, but I love it,” the Homecoming actress previously shared with W magazine, jokingly adding she sometimes isn’t brave enough to try out a new fashion trend. “There are a number of things [I won’t wear], but it doesn’t need to be pointed out.”
As she’s spent years throughout her career being dressed by stylists for red carpet events, Julia dished what she’s learned about her personal sense of style. “You have to wear what you like and not what you get talked into!” she told the outlet.
While Julia isn’t the first to pick out her outfits for Hollywood events, the Golden Globe recipient said she is confident when it comes to shopping for herself, noting the “fit and quality” of an item is what she looks for. The Academy Award also dished she even prefers to cover up her legs by wearing “stockings” or pants.
“I [wear] the Calzedonia [brand] classic fishnet stocking quite a bit,” Julia divulged. “I have lots of their style of leggings. I almost always wear leggings when I travel. They are comfortable and easy to dress up.”
Julia will always be considered one of showbiz’s most beloved actresses, she she’s also taken on the role of a mom throughout her career. Since welcoming her now-teenage kids Hazel Moder, Phinnaeus Moder, and Henry Moder with husband Danny Moder, the Erin Brockovich star’s acting gigs have taken a back seat.
“There are great things I’ve accomplished and I’d be happy to accomplish more, of course, to impress my children and my husband. But you know what? I’ve been spoilt already,” Julia once told Closer Weekly, jokingly adding she’s more of a “soccer mom” than a movie star. “If I wasn’t here today, I’d be in the carpool lane ferrying my kids to school.”
