Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova has a bright future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Florence Pugh made her debut as Yelena Belova in the Marvel Studios feature Black Widow before reprising the role for the Disney Plus series Hawkeye. During Disney’s D23 Expo, Marvel’s Kevin Feige announced that Pugh is set to return to the role in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, which is currently expected to begin production next year, ahead of its Summer 2024 release.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Florence Pugh is already signed up for another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie besides Thunderbolts. Details regarding the project are being kept under wraps but the 26-year-old actress is expected to receive eight figures for her next two MCU Universe appearances.
The Thunderbolts movie was announced during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con presentation this past July. Robot & Frank and Paper Towns helmer Jake Schreier is directing the project from a script by Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson.
The Thunderbolts cast also includes Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. The project recently cast Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, replacing the late William Hurt.
