SUMMER 2022 Q&A – Atlantic-Pacific

SUMMER 2022 Q&A - Atlantic-Pacific

Every few months over here on Atlantic-Pacific I like to round up some new (and a few recurring) questions that I receive via comments, emails, and DMs. Today I am answering some of your most recently asked questions! You can also see older Q&A posts here, here, and here as well as visit many of my FAQ posts below. If I didn’t answer your question this time, please reach out!

How do you achieve your low bun hair? See my tutorial here.

What is your everyday make up routine? See it here.

How did you start blogging? Read about it here.

How and when did you get into the fashion industry? You can read all about that here.

Q: What are your favorite places in the Sarasota area?

A: For dinner I love Owen’s Fish Camp, Shore (both locations), Whitney’s, Spearfish Grille (super casual) and Libby’s! Great coffee spots are The Overton and Project Coffee. Want an incredible cheese board paired with a glass of wine? Look to Artisan Cheese Company. While most people venture to Florida and want fresh fish, if you are more in the mood for Italian, my favorite spots are Napulé and Mediterraneo. I try and update all my recommendation over on the Out Of Office App!

Q: Best ribbed tank and white tee for summer?

A: I actually just did a little post on my favorite ‘Everyday Basics’ here. This tank is the one I currently love – I own it in both white in black. This tee is my favorite tee for summer. It is slouchy, super soft, and has a great open neckline.

Q: Do you have any more Lele Sadoughi collabs in the works?

A: We haven’t *officially* announced anything quite yet but we are releasing a small but mighty summer capsule I think you are going to love. I will share more once we have firm dates in place! Meanwhile you can shop what little is left of the last collaboration here and here.

Q: Do you ever get tired of creating content?

A: I love my job and what I do – and a lot of that is creating content. While I wouldn’t say I get tired of creating content, I do get burnt out. The cycle to create content has sped up and become even more demanding as new aspects of social media, like video and streaming, have come into play. It’s a balance of taking on new things while still maintaining the content I have always created, such as the site, static imagery, social, etc. I have always focused on fashion and styling (which I never get tired of) and I always try to remind myself that the core of my job is fashion and I am always excited by that. So while I may get a bit burnt out by the volume at times, I am still very much in love with the job!

Q: Favorite three color combos?

A: The short answer is that they are always changing! At this exact moment I would say they are orange and pink, green and blue, and black and brown!

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: Read, run, and work on anything home related. I took a very long break from serious reading but got back into it during the pandemic and have found it to be a great escape for me. Below are the books I have read so far this year ranked in order IMO from best to worst. I am a bit behind my goal, but still reading far more than I used to!

The Silent Patient

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

Anxious People

Greenwich Park

Girl On the Train

Cultism

Goodnight Beautiful

If You Tell

Just One Look

Little Secrets

Wish You Were Gone

The Perfect Mother

A History of Wild Places

Q: A favorite look from your early days of blogging?

A: Each year I used to do a year end recap of all my favorite looks and this post is a look back at 2011. I feel like this era was PEAK quirky, colorful, layering Blair and I love seeing my 25 year old self experimenting with fashion, taking risks, and enjoying myself. So while it isn’t necessarily one look that is my favorite – this time period in Atlantic-Pacific is fun for me to look back on.

Q: Favorite things you have bought recently?

A: These sandals, this fun bathing suit I have been wearing as a top, and replacement filters for my Dyson. Vacuuming is one of my favorite things to do around the house. When I need a mental break I vacuum so I still feel like I am being productive while simultaneously zoning out. Very excited to replace my filter this week!

Q: Do you thrift?

A: I would say I am not an avid thrifter but I do like shopping second hand when I can. Locally here in Sarasota Canned Ham Vintage is great. When I am on the hunt for a hard to find item online I buy a lot of second hand pieces from The Real Real, Poshmark, and Ebay.

Q: Do you have any interesting swim recommendations?

A: Of course! Right now I am loving Andrea Iyamah, Bahai Maria Swim, Maygel Coronel, and Zara!
