ILIA is finally easily available in the UK and there has been rather a lot of excitement about it! Here’s the lowdown on the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF30. I have a full review and before and after photos for you.

ILIA has lots of different makeup to choose from, but because I am obsessed with skin and complexion, I went straight to the Skin Tint. This is a makeup and skincare hybrid that offers SPF30 protection.
- Skin tint with light, dewy coverage
- Contains a mineral SPF – Non-Nano Zinc Oxide to defend from UVA, UVB, UVC, blue light & pollution
- Skincare ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane & Niacinamide
- Available in 30 shades
What SPF does the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint have?
A quick note, if you have ever seen this for sale in the USA, it is labelled as an SPF40, but for UK standards, it qualifies as an SPF30.
It uses Zinc Oxide, so this means it is a physical sunscreen as opposed to a chemical sunscreen.
Which shade of the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint Am I?
I used the ILIA shade matcher and was then matched in person, and both times I was recommended shade 7.

I only have one shade to show you at the moment. This is DIAZ ST7. When I went to the launch event, the guys from ILIA just referred to the shades by their number, so I am just calling it 7.

My Review of ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF30

As a fan of a dewy finish in a foundation, I am really getting on well with this skin tint. A quick note on that: it is VERY dewy. So dewy, in fact, that I do like to set my oily areas with a touch of powder which I don’t always do. If you love a dewy finish, you will like this a lot, but if matte is more your bag, it’s not for you.
I used a tiny bit of powder (the Rodial Pressed Glass Powder* works very well with this) and the result is perfect for me. A nice soft glow stays visible through the powder, and the unpowdered areas look super luminous and beautiful.
I love the texture of the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint. It really does feel like skincare and is lovely and nourishing on the skin. ILIA recommend applying this like a serum, however, I really like to use a brush to apply this. I am currently using the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush* with it.
As you apply this, it looks slightly lighter in shade. Apparently, this is to guide you in applying the SPF and then after a minute the formula dries down to its true tone.
For me, I’m not too worried about the SPF coverage, as I always use a separate sunscreen, so I am more focused on the finish. I don’t actually notice the shade 7 changing too much, and I am very happy with that match for my skin tone. See above for a list of my other matches.
In terms of coverage, I think this gives a good medium. It isn’t light light – there’s a decent amount of coverage from the get-go. You can build it up, but it gets dewier the more you apply, so I actually prefer a light layer for more of a weightless feel.
With a little bit of powder in the oily areas, the coverage lasts really well. If you are very oily, you may want to touch up with a small amount of powder during the day. I love how this wears during the day. It keeps my skin looking healthy and radiant throughout the day, and I love that it has plenty of skincare with some of my favourite ingredients – Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide and Squalane.
Although you may think of this as a Summer foundation with the SPF inclusion, I actually think it will be amazing for the winter months when skin gets a bit drier and needs a little bit more TLC.

In terms of packaging, the pipette system works really well. They can often get messy but this one is good. Make sure you really shake up the bottle before you dispense.
