One of Dyson’s newest vacuum cleaners is also its most peculiar. Why? Because it only works on hardwood floors, making it the sole Dyson vacuum not able to adapt to all floor types. Released in 2021, the Dyson Omni-glide was overshadowed by the V15 Detect, which was announced at the same time. The V15 Detect has its teched-out laser head, but the Omni-glide has the supreme ability to make vacuuming kind of, sort of fun. It’s one of the lightest Dyson vacuums around—weighing a hair over four pounds—and quickly converts from stick to handheld. The cleaning head can swivel 360 degrees, which makes the vacuum incredibly easy to maneuver. (Seriously: This thing glides all over the floor with so much ease that it’s like you’re slipping on ice.) And if you have low-sitting furniture, it can also fold down so it’s practically parallel to the floor for getting in those hard-to-reach places.
One of our favorite features of the Omni-glide is its push-button control. Where other Dysons require you to constantly keep a trigger depressed for operation—which leads to finger cramping and constant struggles to keep the vacuum running—the Omni-glide stays on with the easy push of a button.

Like we said, this thing is only good for hardwood floors, so if you have a bunch of carpeted areas (or your home is just covered in rugs) we suggest you look to other Dyson vacuums instead (may we interest you in the V8 Absolute?). But if you’re not in the market for this hardwood floor-only vacuum cleaner, here are seven other great deals worth checking out this week.
