The nominations for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, and HBO’s Succession stole the lead with 25 nominations, including for best drama.
In another year that continued to see streaming platforms dominate the television space, Apple TV’s Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus also earned 20 nominations each.
In total, HBO received 140 nominations, Netflix earned 105, Apple TV+ garnered 51 and Disney+ was awarded 34.

During the virtual ceremony, JB Smoove of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Melissa Fumero of NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine announced the nominations.
Martin Short, Sandra Oh and Seth Rogen are among the Canadians in the running. Hamilton-born Short picked up a nod for lead actor in a comedy series for Only Murders in the Building, where he’ll compete against his co-star Steve Martin.

Nepean, Ont., native Oh is in the running for lead actress in a drama series for Killing Eve, her fourth nomination in the category for this show.
Vancouver-raised Rogen is nominated for supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for Pam & Tommy, a show that revolves around the leak of Pamela Anderson’s sex tape.
