CWT is adding both car rental and train booking capabilities to its myCWT web and mobile platforms, the travel management company announced.
For car rental, myCWT users will be able to search pick-up and drop-off locations and access their employers’ corporate negotiated rates and preferred suppliers. CWT also is integrating loyalty program details from car rental companies into the platform. The integration process has begun “in key markets worldwide,” according to CWT.
For train content, CWT is working with a longtime partner, European rail platform Trainline Partner Solutions, to integrate booking and ticketing functionality into myCWT via an API. The integration will include access to corporate negotiated fares and discounts, and seat reservation and preference capabilities. CWT is starting with the content in the myCWT mobile app, and it will be available in the U.K. this month, with other European markets added in the coming months.
Prior to these integrations, travelers had to either work with a CWT travel counselor to book car and rail travel or go through a third-party booking tool, according to CWT.
CWT is introducing sustainability elements to both offerings as well. In car rental bookings, myCWT will have indicators that highlight electric and hybrid rental options, and CWT later will add carbon emission estimates to the booking process for both car and train bookings.
The integrations are happening thanks to the $100 million investment that came from the TMC recapitalization last year, according to CWT.
