Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Filming At-Home Netflix Docuseries
It looks like the Sussexes will be heading to our tv screens very soon!
According to sources, Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, 40, have landed their very own docuseries. The Netflix reality show is described as an “at-home with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex-style” docuseries.
Reportedly, the royal couple signed on for a multi-million deal with the streaming giant in 2020 after moving to the U.S. They were followed by Netflix cameras when they went to the Netherlands last month for the Invictus Games — Prince Harry’s global games for wounded and injured servicemen and women. Netflix is also making a documentary about the event called “Heart of Invictus.”
Sources claim that Netflix would like the Sussexes docuseries to air by the end of the year, while the royal couple would prefer if it aired next year. A producer for the series said,
“The timing is still being discussed, things are up in the air.”
As of now, it’s unclear what will be included in the documentary, but some assume it may be centered on the Sussexes life in California. Since there move to America, there has been lots of chatter surrounding the breakdown in their relationship with the royal family. While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still on good terms with Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, it appears things are still rocky with other members of the royal family.
Reportedly, the Sussexes have also announced they will be taking their children– Archie, 3, and baby Lilibet — to London next month for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. However, they will not be joining senior members of the family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace including Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Last month, Netflix announced that it had to cancel the development of “Pearl”– an animated series created by Meghan Markle which was planned to center on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who is inspired by influential women from history. This is one of several projects being dropped by the streaming giant due to cost cutting measures.
