Anne-Marie is no stranger to mixing up her beauty look, from flirtations with lipgloss-pink hair colour, to spiked, thorny liner and fuchsia glittery eyeshadow. But for the GLAMOUR Women Of The Year Awards 2022, she took her beauty look in an entirely different direction. The reason? Um, because why the hell not?

“I feel my best when I’m making a decision based off what I want, and no-one else,” she explained, adding, “like tonight, I was like f*ck it, I’ll cut a little fringe in,” she said “and I felt very empowered,” the singer laughed.

The fringe in question was the sort of cute situation we can very much get behind. Think wispy, shaggy, and with a loose cheek-skimming curtain bang shape to frame her features. And while it gave us low-key rocker vibes, the soft shape was also seriously delicate and wearable.

As for how it came to be, the singer called on her hair dresser. When asked if she cut the fringe in herself, she replied frankly, “f*ck no, it wouldn’t look like this. I got it done.” And the rest of the cut had just as much rebel texture. “I was like ooh I might try a mullet,” she explained of the choppy shoulder-length cut.

Her makeup on the other hand, was very much a DIY job. “But, I’ve done my own makeup,” she told GLAMOUR, “so god knows what the red carpet pictures are gonna look like.” We can confirm it looked perfect. The singer obviously knows her way around a blending brush, since she served up a grungey ‘90s soft, sheer-black smokey eye, which gets a 10 out of 10 from us. And she also gave us a Pammy Anderson dark-lined ’90s lip, but kept her skin fresh, glowy and 100% red carpet worthy.

Given she has access to an elite glam squad for occasions such as this, we love that Anne-Marie kept it casual and flexed her own makeup skills instead.
