Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps, and Paula Pell are bringing their B.P.E. to Netflix. A press release announced that the streamer has greenlit Season 3 of “Girls5eva.” Looks like the foursome is “gonna be famous 5eva.”
From creator/showrunner Meredith Scardino, the Emmy-nominated musical comedy follows a one-hit wonder girl group from the ’90s who reunite for one last shot at stardom.

And we are endlessly grateful to our partners at NBCU for their boundless commitment. Today, we are thrilled to announce that our reunited girl group will be re-reunited at Netflix. We are so thankful to everyone at the streamer who fell in love with our music-filled comedy. We cannot wait to introduce Dawn, Wickie, Summer, and Gloria to the global Netflix audience. Well, not fully introduce, if you look closely, Girls5eva can be seen in the background of the Woodstock ’99 documentary setting a porta potty on fire,” said executive producers Meredith Scardino, Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond, and Robert Carlock.
Seasons 1 and 2 of “Girls5eva” will also stream on Netflix. They originally launched on Peacock.
Sara Bareilles is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter whose hits include “Brave” and “Love Song.” She made her Broadway debut with “Waitress.”
Goldsberry won a Tony for her performance in “Hamilton” and received an Emmy nod for Disney+’s live stage recording of the smash hit musical. Her TV credits include “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “The Good Wife.”
An alumna of “Freaks and Geeks,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and “Cougar Town,” Philipp’s more recent credits include “Search Party” and “I Feel Pretty.”
Pell won an Emmy during her tenure as a writer on “SNL.”Her latest projects include “Mappleworth Murders” and “A.P. Bio.”
